The ALLEGRETTO WAVE® EYE-Q laser is set to change the way we look at LASIK, and Tylock Eye Care & Laser Center is one of the select few to employ this groundbreaking technology.
Furthering his reputation as a pioneer in the LASIK industry, Dr. Tylock is the first doctor in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area to perform surgery with the ALLEGRETTO WAVE® EYE-Q 400 Hz Laser. This cutting-edge technology is the fastest excimer laser on the market. Its speed results in shorter treatment times, which provides more consistent outcomes and greater accuracy. Clinical results show that 60 percent of nearsighted patients treated with the ALLEGRETTO WAVE® EYE-Q see 20/16 (better than 20/20) at one year after surgery.
The ALLEGRETTO WAVE® EYE-Q is a Wavefront-optimized system that keeps the cornea's natural shape with prolate treatment profiles. This improves the eye's optics in dim light or night driving situations. The EYE-Q delivers an amazing 400-Hz of energy, dropping the treatment times to 1.00 diopter per two seconds with an optical zone of 6.5-mm.
Dehydration of the cornea, as well as external influences, is minimized due to the laser's extremely fast pulse repetition. The faster treatments also decrease patient anxiety by requiring less time under the laser. The eye-tracker follows eye movement 400 times per second to match the speed of the laser, allowing the gaze of the patient to be monitored with unprecedented accuracy. The shorter treatment times not only have inherent medical advantages, but also improve patient comfort during the brief procedure.

The ALLEGRETTO WAVE® EYE-Q works with high resolutions and creates the finest improvements on the cornea, due to the small laser spot diameter (.95mm).
The small spot precision minimizes overall ablation depth by creating the desired curvature of the corneal tissue. Other lasers were unable to correct high refractive errors due to excess removal of corneal tissue. The ALLEGRETTO WAVE® EYE-Q only needs to remove 16 microns of tissue for each diopter of nearsightedness (compared to Bausch & Lomb's 2172, removing 18 microns of tissue). The Wavefront-optimized beam profile combined with the small laser spots creates a generous optical zone, yet maintains a minimized transition area.
